Harvey Goodman grew up in Los Angeles and attended the University of Colorado where
he studied history and developed a love for western literature and the great outdoors.
He visited and worked in some of the west's remotest locations during his years
running an oilfield vessel-buildings outfit. Mr Goodman went on to teach history
and coach football, eventually becoming a high school principal, and superintendent
of schools.
In his youth, Mr. Goodman excelled as an athlete, being named the MVP of the University of Colorado
football team his senior season, and he was selected as a starting guard for The Senior
Bowl, The Coaches All-America Game, and The East-West Shrine Game. He was drafted
by the St. Louis Football Cardinals and played in thirty-two NFL games, including
the 1976 season with the Denver Broncos.
Harvey and his wife, Gabrielle, have three sons, Matthew, Brian, and Sean, all of whom have served, or are currently serving in the United States Army. Matthew, Brian and Sean have completed deployments in Iraq, and the entire Goodman family continues to pray for the safety, success, and well-being of all our service people and their families.
Mr. Goodman lives in Westcliffe, Colorado. This is his first novel.
